Our story

Establishing our estate agency in 2017, we have grown the business into a multi-site residential sales, lettings and property management agency.

2024

In early 2024, following the acquisition of Senate Property Services Ltd, we welcomed their team and rebranded our growing residential sales and lettings agency to Horton & Senate. With offices based in Shirley and Knowle, we have expanded our services to cover Shirley, Solihull, Knowle and Dorridge for buying and selling homes, and have grown our lettings agency to cover all of Birmingham and Solihull.

2023

Due to continued success, we acquired Senate Property Services Ltd, an established lettings agency based in Knowle. This strategic acquisition further expands our lettings agency business and strengthens our residential sales, lettings and property management services.

2021/2022

Tom was nominated for the Young Residential Surveyor of the Year Award, and the surveying business expanded around Solihull. In 2022, the firm was a UK finalist for the Small Agency of the UK at the Negotiator Awards. Meanwhile, they expanded their lettings service with a key hire in Charlotte Ford as Senior Property Manager.

2017

With rumours that CPBigwood would be sold, Justyn and Tom leapt to set up their own estate agency. Horton & Storey was born. Even with COVID-19 and Brexit, the partnership performed exceptionally, becoming the fastest-growing estate agency in the Solihull market.

2015

Tom was in his final year of training after finishing his Master’s Degree at Birmingham City University. A chance meeting with the new owners of CPBigwood led to a late-night phone call with Justyn, where Tom pitched the Head of the Birmingham agency to his old colleague.  After a successful recruitment drive, Justyn became the head of the agency, with Tom managing the New Business department. Justyn made his first hire, Tom as his deputy.

2013

Our co-founders, Justyn Horton and Tom Storey met while working at Dixons Estate Agency in 2013. Tom left Dixons after a year to pursue a career in Chartered Surveying, while Justyn continued to grow as one of Dixons’ most successful senior branch managers and trainers.
